Niekedy vieme, že ublížime, aj keď nechceme. A aj tak niet inej cesty, ak sa chceme oslobodiť od toho, čo nám neprospieva a pre čo sa trápime. Myslieť na seba v takýchto životných situáciách môže vyznieť egoisticky, ale je lepšie nemyslieť na seba? Čo so vzťahmi, ktoré nám oveľa viac berú ako dávajú? Či už sú to nezmieriteľné vzťahy s rodičmi, nikam nevedúce partnerské vzťahy, nenapĺňajúce kamarátske vzťahy, ubíjajúce medziľudské vzťahy na pracoviskách alebo hocijaké iné vzťahy, v istom bode sa môže ukázať, že nemajú perspektívu, a musíme tomu prispôsobiť aj svoje konanie. Ref.: There are moments in life when we realize that we have to make a change in how we treat ourselves as well as others and change the direction of our lives. And it is difficult to do immediately. Starting something new means stopping something existing, which is often hard to do. Sometimes we don’t even know what exactly we should do. Sometimes we have to burn bridges. Sometimes we know that we will hurt someone although we don’t want to. And still, there is no other way if we want to free ourselves from what does us no good and what hurts us. To think about ourselves in such situations may sound selfish, but would it be better not to think about ourselves? What about relationships in which much more is taken than given? Be it irreconcilable relationships with parents, partnerships that are getting nowhere, unfulfilling friendships, grinding interpersonal relationships in the workplace or any other relationships, you may get to a point when you start to see that they have no perspective and that you have to adjust your behaviour accordingly. The sooner, the better.
